Sahara was one of my models for my first Dance Portrait Shoot. I absolutely love all the photos from this dance portrait shoot. I had a blast seeing all the girls in their beautiful outfits doing amazing dance moves. My first dance portrait shoot took place in Downtown Norfolk. We went to some of the cool streets and alleyways in downtown and then moved over to the Neon Arts District to use some of the gorgeous murals as backdrops. Sahara was a wonderful model and dancer. Her dance skills were truly amazing. I can’t wait to start photographing more dancers.

Meighan is a senior at Indian River High School and is a member of the Class of 2019 JCP Street Team. Meighan was a great member of the team. I loved photographing her for the styled photo shoots. She has an amazing personality that shined through in her photographs. For Meighan’s senior portraits she wanted a fall backdrop. She decided to take some in downtown Norfolk in the Neon District. She loved the colorful murals in the area and definitely wanted those in some of her senior portraits. Her two beautiful prom dresses looked stunning in the urban environment. For the second location Meighan chose OAK Grove Lake Park. She wanted to see the gorgeous fall leaves in some of her photos and Oak Grove was a perfect location. I love doing fall senior sessions and Meighan’s is one of my favorites.
Skye | Great Bridge High School | Class of 2019
Skye is a senior at Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, VA. Skye is a member of my JCP Street Team. I had the pleasure of photographing her for the two group photo shoots for the JCP Street Team, so I knew Skye’s senior session would be a lot of fun to photograph. Skye wanted a few different locations for her senior portraits. The first location was Norfolk Botanical Garden. A gorgeous location for senior portraits with lots of greenery, trees and flowers. Skye wore her prom dress for a more formal look and then wore a cute floral dress and denim jacket. Both outfits looked amazing with the garden as a backdrop. The second location was the beach at First Landing State Park. The beach has a pretty wooden walkway that always looks great for portraits and then of course there’s the sand dunes and beach which are always a popular location for a senior session. Both locations were a great choice and made for beautiful senior portraits.

I have so many favorite images from 2017 it was really hard to choose which ones to feature on the blog. I did quite a few photo shoots in very different environments. I started off the year participating in a styled group senior shoot with other photographers in Marfa, TX. That was an amazing experience and so much fun. Marfa is in west Texas, a very remote desert town. The location was very different from Virginia Beach, but so cool to do a photo shoot in a completetly different environment. I photographed four models and have some beautiful images from that photo shoot.
